We had a chance to work with a leading provider of relocation and moving solutions from Australia, who required our migration services in order to be able to move from the legacy database to the updated platform on the basis of Microsoft SQL Server.

Challenge
Ispirer team faced the challenge to perform migration of application and database with data migration in the following directions: Progress to Microsoft SQL Server and Progress 4GL to C# Windows Presentation Foundation. The scope of the project contained more than 70 thousand lines of code. Additional challenge was to migrate the ADM engine for building of windows in Progress application.
Solution
The PoC (Proof-of-Concept) stage was chosen to start with and the client was able to be sure that they get an updated, quickly operating and efficient tool with the further technical support. For the client’s needs a lot of Progress 4GL code was analyzed and migrated since PoC scope contained the one module of whole application. The project was completely ready in six weeks.
Results and Advantages
Ispirer provides the client with the optimal migration solution for their request due to the constant communication between our technical team and the client using the online meetings. The migration tool can be easily customized to be useful for any migration direction so there were no difficulties in migration for the Ispirer team and no necessity for further support services for the customer.
