Technologies
Challenge
The challenge was to convert application C from Sybase ESQL API to PostgreSQL ECPG API, including embedded SQL. The conversion included more than two hundred triggers and over three hundred stored procedures. The total scope included almost 50 thousand lines of code.
Solution
We were working with only part of the complete application, and thus had to create a test environment designed to verify the basic capabilities of converted objects before product completion and delivery.
Results and Advantages
The Ispirer team managed to finish the project within just three months. On top of that, we provided the client a three-month warranty.
Warranty Service
During the testing process, the client presented some additional requirements for the trigger migration that necessitated use of a C++ Library, made by the client, in the target. All the requirements were successfully accomplished, much to the satisfaction of the client.
