Challenge

Our client was concerned to modernize a part of their data storage systems by migrating to Oracle. Being a large financial institution, it was essential having the data environment secure. Choosing Oracle allowed our client to take advantage of the industry's most advanced technology to safeguard data in databases. Oracle’s identity management system was expected to secure critical data and ensure compliance with relevant regulations. Ispirer team was requested to offer turn-key database migration service.

Solution

Since we had to work with our client’s sensitive data at Ispirer premises, we signed a confidentiality and non-disclosure agreement prior to this business engagement. The client provided us with their legacy, which had to be transferred from Sybase ASE to Oracle.

The migration process consisted of two main stages. Firstly, in team-work with the client’s technology expert we found out how the target code should look like based on the client’s requirements and customized Ispirer SQLWays Wizard accordingly. Secondly, we migrated the database automatically on our side. After completing the testing procedure, the result was delivered to the client.

Results & Advantages

The client got the work result and was able to implement it in their production environment. Ispirer automated migration toolkit had been adopted subject to the customer’s needs and enabled us to perform a safe and efficient database migration.
