Microsoft SQL Server 2005, 2008

To install ODBC driver for MS SQL Server 2005,2008 please follow the steps below:

• Please find sqlncli.msi in the folder with the SQL Server installation files or download it from Microsoft Corp. site using the links provided below:

http://download.microsoft.com/download/4/4/D/44DBDE61-B385-4FC2-A67D-48053B8F9FAD/sqlncli.msi - for SQL Server 2005

http://download.microsoft.com/download/0/5/C/05CDDB59-AD66-4ABC-AE1E-58075DB50981/sqlncli.msi - for SQL Server 2008

• Run this installation file.
• Click “Next” button until “Install” button appears.
• Click “Install” button and wait until installation finishes.
• Click “Finish” button.

After you installed the client the “ODBC Data Source Administrator” must be updated with the driver appropriate to the build installed, like in the picture below:

SQL Native Client must appear for the SQL Server 2005.
SQL Server Native Client 10.0 must appear for SQL Server 2008.

If the appropriate driver specified is in place the installation complete.
