The client was a U.S.-based, non-profit organization working within the education sector, striving to ensure equal rights of students in low-income groups across the United States. This was Ispirer’s second assignment with the client.

Challenge
The client had initially contacted Ispirer to migrate a database from PostgreSQL to Oracle. While processing the PostgreSQL database, the client was using test cases written in Java, which were to be used in the Oracle database. After realizing that embedded SQL conversion was quite a challenge, the client decided to summon Ispirer again to perform this migration. The total scope covered about 38 thousand lines of code.
Solution
All technical questions regarding the migration process, along with marketing-related queries, were discussed and answered during pre-sales. In line with the customer’s needs, the Ispirer team was able to offer an optimal database migration solution, including analysis and resolution of issues that depended on database design.
Results and Advantages
The technical specialists completed the migration in two months. One of the greatest advantages of the proposed solution was the possibility of automating the migration process in order to minimize manual interventions as well as product customization efforts with each database. Yet again, Ispirer successfully demonstrated the efficiency of the SQLWays tool to the client.
